New in Norway

Immigrants have rights and duties which require them to know about Norwegian society and communicate with public authorities in Norway. As newcomers, it is not always easy to track down relevant information. Below are some links to immigration-related web sites and digital services.

Studying

To study at a university or college in Norway, Norwegians must normally have completed their basic and upper secondary education. Some courses of study have additional entrance requirements. Entrance requirements for foreign students vary, depending on their country of origin’s education.

Choose a digital mailbox

Norwegian authorities would like to send you mail electronically rather than on paper. A digital mailbox is a secure digital solution for receiving and storing important post from public agencies. There are two providers of digital mailboxes, e-Boks and Digipost.

About the digital mailbox

Digital mailbox from Digipost or e-Boks is a secure and easy way to receive mail from public agencies digitally. Letters in the mailbox can be stored there for as long as you wish and is free of charge.
