A life certificate is confirmation by a Notarius Publicus that you are alive. It can for instance be necessary in the event of pension disbursement from abroad. Personal attendance in front of the Notarius Publicus is required with proof of identity. Take the relevant document with you. Notarial acts are performed by the District Courts and The County Court in Oslo.

All pregnant women in Norway are entitled to maternity care from a midwife at a Maternity and Child Health Care Centre (in Norwegian: “helsestasjon") or from their General Practitioner. The consultations are free of charge.
