Jobbkompasset - Find a profession that fits you

An overview over 500 professions you can educate for. You can search by interest and type of profession. "Jobbkompasset" is a help for students, teachers, school counselors and other that need an overview over what profession- and education possibilities that exists. 

Studievelger

Ministry of Education and Research

Studievelgeren will give an overview of the courses of study you can apply for through “Samordna opptak”, and the requirements needed to be accepted into the said courses. Some of the courses will have a local admission, and therefore will not be found in the list on the webpage. “Studievelgeren” is connected to “Karakterkalkulatoren”, where you can add up your points that indicates whether or not you will be granted access to take part in the course.

Utdanning.no - find education, profession and apprenticeship

Direktoratet for høyere utdanning og kompetanse (HK-dir)

On this webpage you can crosscheck between your personal interests, education programs and professions, to see what a good fit for you could be. You will also find an overview of educational programs for high schools, vocational school, universities, colleges, and certified apprenticeship companies for every county in Norway. The webpage informs about the status of the laborer’s market, with information about employment in different fields and professions, on a county and municipality level. The webpage is maintained/updated through use of the “AA-registeret” and “Brønnøysundregistert.

Upper Secondary School Reports

If you finished Norwegian upper secondary school (norsk videregående skole) in the year 2000 or later, your school report will most likely be registered in the National School Report Database (NVB).

Apply for approval of education to get unemployment benefit

Norwegian Labour and Welfare Service (NAV)

As a common rule, you can not get unemployment benefit if your are a student. But there is some exceptions. If you wish to keep your unemployment benefit while you are a student, you have to apply for it. Read more about unemployment benefit and education on Nav.no
