Tenancy agreement

This agreement and the Tenancy Act (husleieloven) regulate the Tenant’s and the Lessor’s rights and obligations in the tenancy. A rental agreement must be drawn up in writing. The Tenancy Act takes precedence over any contractual terms and conditions.

Complaint on a bank, finance company, investment fund, collection and insurance

Finansklagenemnda

The Norwegian Financial Services Complaints Board (FinKN) deals with disputes that arise between finance companies and their customers in service areas such as insurance, banking, financing, securities funds and debt collection. Before a complaint can be dealt with by the Complaints Board, you must first lodge a complaint with the institution concerned which must then be allowed a reasonable period  to reply to the complaint.

Citizens have the right to complain about an unsatisfactory municipal service. You can do so online.

Make a complaint against marketing and/or contract term

Forbrukertilsynet

As a consumer you can make a complaint against a company's marketing and/or the term of agreement. Send the complaint to The Consumer Ombudsman (CO), which is an independent administrative body with the responsibility of supervising measures in the market. Aalso see the complaint form. When shopping in a physical shop, you’re at the mercy of the shop’s own product exchange policy. You’re only entitled to a cooling-off period if you didn't buy the goods in a permanent shop, e.g. online or doorstep purchases.
