Online communication as a general rule
Central and local government are transitioning to online communication with their citizens. It makes daily life easier for you as a citizen, with better services and quicker replies from the public sector. When the public sector sends important mail to you, you will be notified by SMS or e-mail as to where you shall log in to read the letter.
If you want to continue to receive letters in paper format, you must opt out of online communication. For more information

Norwegian Parliament has amended legislation which means government authorities will communicate digitally with citizens by default. You may opt out of this, and continue to receive official documents and notifications on paper, if you prefer.
If you have previously opted out of receiving letters and documents from public authorities digitally, and now wish to change this, you can do so here.
